Tarek: Mahmoud Asfa

Thirteen year old Mahmoud, lives with his family in Irbid refugee camp. His family is originally from Palestine and became refugees in Jordan, unable to cross the border where their homeland lies just across the valley. When I Saw You is his first acting role. He enjoys playing football and his pet birds. 

Ghaydaa: Ruba Blal

Ruba Blal is a Palestinian actress living in Jaffa. Film credits include Miral and Atash, Cannes FIPRESCI winner. She has also been actively involved in the Palestinian theater scene with performances in “Al Jidareeya” (Hawawati Playhouse), and “Umm Daya” where she received the Best Actress award. 

Layth: Saleh Bakri

Saleh Bakri is a Palestinian actor born in Bina village in the Galilee in 1977. His mother is from Jaffa and his father, the well known actor Mohammed Bakri, is from Bina. He has performed regularly in theater. Salt of this Sea (2008) was his debut performance in an Arab film. Other films include The Band’s Visit, The Time That Remains, and La Source des Femmes.   

Abu Akram: Ali Elayan

A known figure in the Arab theater and TV scene, Ali Elayan has also participated in a number of films including  Incendies.  Ali is actively involved in theater productions across the Arab world which have garnered several awards.

Majed: Firas Taybeh

Firas Taybeh is a filmmaker and actor based in Amman. He started training as a sculptor before he turned to filmmaking in 2007. He is one of the creators of Aramram, Jordan’s first web TV launched in 2009. His film “An Invisible Face” won the best short film award in the 19th European Film Festival in Amman in 2007.

Zain: Ruba Shamshoum

Ruba Shamshoum was born in Nazareth in 1984. She has participated in the Brazil ensemble, Rawaa band, Kayaan project (a jazz-rap project), Trio Jazz, Billie Holiday ensemble and was a lead singer in the Duke Ellington ensemble, and Rouge ensemble. She continues to explore many genres including Rock, Blues, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Cabaret, and Oriental. When I Saw You in her debut acting performance in film. She is working on her first album.

 

Toussaint: Ahmad Srour

Ahmad Srour plays the role of "Toussaint", a nom-de-guerre, in When I Saw You . Ahmed is a theater actor, comedian, and part of the Amman's Street Theater. He studied acting and directing at Jordan University.

Mr. Nasser: Anas Qaralleh

Anas Algaralleh hails from Aqaba, Jordan. He has been involved in the Aqaba economic zone projects, and has turned his interest to acting, working closely with RSICA students. This is his debut performance in a feature film.

Asad: Ahmad Massad

Born in 1987, Ahmad Massad attended the University of Jordan before deciding to turn his studies to cinema and enrolled at the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts. He is a theater actor and has directed plays, and is very involved in Street Theater in Jordan.
